Aaron's Violin

Mom & Dad bought this cardboard violin for Aaron - and we make him treat it like a real violin. Aaron keeps asking for a real violin, HOWEVER he is TWO and that is not old enough to play the violin in the Muth house, for a variety of reasons. Here is Aaron with his pseudo-violin.

I think it is a little crazy how well he does. Scary crazy.

In fact, right now, he's watching a local middle school violin concert via our town's tv station, and playing along.

OK, I am seriously impressed. I can't wait until he's old enough to have a real one!!

Your never too young to learn. Carmen started when she was in the 3rd grade. I've seen kids start younger we would take her to susuki camp every summer. They learned by listening, how to stand and hold the violin.
I think she gave most of her stuff to a friend of hers that teaches music. But I'll look around I might still have the cassette tapes. I'll check with her to see if Aaron can have them.
We still have the mini violin she started on but it needs new strings and some other work.

Super sweet! I've never even seen a cardboard violin like that - great preparation for handling a real one. We bought a plastic toy one once and it was way too bulky to resemble the real thing. Play on, Aaron!

I found the suzki tapes and Carmen said Aaron can have them. So we will get them off in the mail.
He can play the tapes and practice on his cardboard violin.

That is so cool! It will be fun to watch him get older and see if he still loves it later on when he is able to use a real one. If nothing else, he may end up being blessed with amazing musical talent just like his mommy and daddy.
