with relief, I am sighing

AHHH. I have my computer back. AHHH.

1. The mouse is dead. It had the good graces to leave evidence of it's existence in the bait tray, of all places. So I knew it lived, and lived on. Then, it had the good sense to die in the middle of my laundry room floor. So I could find it. Thank you, mouse. For the record: I do not like D-con. But I like mice in my pantry even less. The D-con is still there, in case mousie had friends.

2. The virus has been vanquished. And, should you ever find yourself in a similar situation and you live in the area, I have a referral for you. Thank you, a million thank yous, to the technological mastermind who saved the life of our computer. And my sanity. For, if I cannot write, or use allrecipes, or check the weather, well, I might as well kiss my last remaining (and fragile) brain cells goodbye.

On the bright side, my cookbooks got a fair chance this past week. :-)

Save up for Works of God Monday this next week! I thought about posting a catch-up today, but decided against it. Good to know that someone missed it. It's one of the highlights of my week, too.

Tonight we attempted family photos. I'll post some of those gems later. Thanks for all the prayers. and the love.

I'm glad you're back! I missed your posts. And I can very much relate to the mouse thing. :) We haven't had any for a long time (praise the Lord!) but when we first moved into our house, and it was even more unfinished than it is now), we were infested with them for about the first week. D-con came to the rescue, as well as my husband with a BB gun (yes, in the house, LOL). Anyway, once he figured out where they were getting in, he plugged the hole and they haven't come back. I hope you don't see any more!! And I'm so happy you were able to get your computer healed. :)

Oh yes, the BB gun is good for bats, too! What a marksman, that man of mine.
I'll be waiting for those family photos!

Welcome back! I'm very connected to my computer too. It's my lifeblood most days. We have our 3rd mouse of the year in our sights tonight. But we kill 'em the old fashioned way with wooden traps. I hate mice in the kitchen but my heart always sinks when I see a cute little dead mouse in the trap. Matt promised he'd wake early to dispose of the body this time.

Oh, I have a mouse story for you. We too have some D-con at the back of our pantry - although I don't like it either....for many reasons but especially the one I'm about to tell you. A couple of weeks ago, I was reaching into my pantry to get some canned goods and on top of the can that I lifted out there was a curled up dead mouse. Oh, so disgusting. That became a course-changer for the day as I bleached every can in my pantry. But like Alicia, I too was filled with compassion and did apologize to the little mouse. Nothing like a dead animal to send my heart strings moving. So, I'm glad that your mouse chose the laundry room floor!

So glad your mouse adventure has a happy ending. We had a similar issue here. I put a lot of D-con around, and he FINALLY died. I did freak out when I found the poor mouse though. I had been sewing on my dining room table, and was putting the machine away. I reached down to grab the foot pedal, and saw the mouse about a foot away, dead on the floor. I couldn't scream since all the breath in my body was gone. I called my mom and freaked out on her since Kevin wasn't home. :) I did call him on the way home and tell him that he had a VERY important job to do the instant he came in the door. I can deal with bugs, and lots of other yucky things, but I could not move that mouse. Maybe it had something to do with being pregnant? :) Anyway, I cleaned all the infected areas repeatedly and left the d-con out for mouse's relatives too.
I'm so glad that I'm not alone in my dealings with mice!
