we shall be overrun

Yesterday, as I was blissfully doing laundry, I caught a glimpse of a mouse-shaped blur down by the lower pantry shelves. Upon further inspection of the surrounding floor, I was horrified by the obvious remaining evidence that a mouse had been there, indeed he had.

Out comes the D-Con, although I much prefer those little round traps that provide a quicker, less cruel death to the rodents who dare to invade my home. And eat our food. That my husband worked hard to pay for, and I to get for a good price.

Then the mouse actually emerged - only to spot me and quickly return to his hiding spot. Yes, I will be cleaning out the laundry room, pantry, and mudroom. It's the most neglected area of the home. I will be doing that now. There are piles and stacks and I must needs hasten.

Or, my friends, we shall be overrun.

Nothing like a mouse to motivate you to clean.
Sushi is a great mouser.

We had a mouse in our house when we first moved in. My husband went around and filled up EVERY possible opening but we found out that it was living in between the basement wall and former paneling.

We KNEW that something was living down there because something kept urinating on the carpet and I kept cleaning it!! We never saw mouse droppings believe it or not. We finally killed it and have not had a problem since. I'm not afraid of mice but I am afraid of their germs - blech!

Those little critters can be clever! He may be smart enough to eat your nice stock of cereal before touching that D-Con. We used to have a cat, but thought it was too messy and too much trouble. So we sent it packing to our son's house when he moved out. THEN we had messy mice in the garage. They were very smart, too!!! They could remove any food (cheese, even peanut butter) from the old-fashioned spring-loaded mouse traps without tripping them. We finally resorted to putting out D-Con in places REALLY inaccessable to the grandkids. That did the job.
Good luck!! Aunt Rosemary

So, did you get it?

Those electronic things you plug in really work. We use them and have no mice. We know the previous owners did have mice. So, I would highly recommend getting one of those.
