extra plummy

I had purchased some plums a week ago at the Farmer's Market, and there were just too many for us to eat before they would have turned to mush. So off to Allrecipes I went, and found this wondrous concoction. I made it without a pie crust, more as a crisp/cobbler, and it was scrumptious. I reduced the sugar in the filling to 1/4 cup and added a handful of frozen blackberries as well.

This was a two thumbs up recipe according to all the Muths who tried it.

I have several shelves of recipe books (many inherited from Mom), but I always seem to head to ALLRECIPES.COM for ideas for how to use up ingredients on hand. (love it!)
And this sounds yummy, especially with the addition of the berries! Did you use the plums with or without the peels?
Thanks for the link. I will try this if I EVER have more plums in the house than my grandson Alex will eat. :) ...Alex LOVES plums!

Sunds delightful! I haven't been buying plums but have been loading up on peaches lately as they have been ultra cheap. I agree, allrecipes.com is the bestest!

I always like a new plum recipe because I have 3 plum trees.
I've made plum sauce, plum tarts, plum jam, plum juice, dried plums. It's nice to see what else can be done with a plum.

Yummmm!!! My grandma always made an old simple German recipe where you layer plums on a sweet bread and bake it, and this makes me think of that. You don't always think "plum" when it comes to fruit desserts, but they are so yummy!
