civic duties

So I've got jury duty come Monday, 8am. I'm conflicted - I love the USA, the way the jury system is set up, and yet, I'm majorly conflicted. I certainly don't "feel" like going, but I am obviously going to do it.

I guess I just wish they'd called 3 years ago, when I was childless and more easily able to perform my duty as a citizen.

But, sometimes, great blessings are born of inconvenience. Starting the calling now for childcare...

I know exactly how you feel! I was like 7 mo. pregnant with Abby (child #4) and had a history of early labor/delivery. I was so nervous! But it turns out the case was about a pit bull that attacked an officer. I loath those beasts (the dogs), and I was the first one to get the boot. I was home in time for lunch. :)
My mom would LOVE to be on a jury and has never been called.

Eric was called in showed up and they didn't need him so he won't be called on for awhile.
Chances are you won't have to do anything but if you do we need people like you who have conviction.

I had to go in last month, Jacob went to work with Dad, I didn't end up getting picked, but I have to confess, I enjoyed the "morning off" :)Hooray for America!

I got called up once & was actually a bit excited to perform my civic duty. However, it was an arson case & my cousin was the lead firefighter testifying. That gave me the boot. I was back to work in a little over an hour. I haven't been called since. It's funny the unforeseen things that can eliminate you!
