favorites?

We are always on the lookout for fun games to play as a couple (a nice switch from TV for stay at home date night) or when we get together with other couples (on the rare occasion THAT happens!)

We found Cranium Hoopla at a garage sale a year ago, but we tried to play with some friends awhile back, before they moved away and we cried, and there was a little bit of complaining that there was not a specific winner. We also like standards like Dutch Blitz and Scrabble.

So, what is your favorite 2-player game? Family game? Or do you have a closetful of games that you never use?

We have a closet full of games that we have intensions of using, but don't always get around to it. We have fun with Battleship when we do play - we're both really competitive, so that's fun! We like Cranium, but it's much better with 4 or more.

Jessica and I just purchased Ticket to Ride: Switzerland and have found it to be excellent for two players. We can even play while she's nursing the baby, so it gets points for that.

However, it loses points because it is not a stand-alone game, you need to have already purchased either Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe in order to have the trains & cards you need.

Since I love all the Ticket to Ride games and we already own the original, the 1910 expansion, and Ticket to Ride: Marklin, the decision was easy for us.

Otherwise, we enjoy Lost Cities, Balloon Cup, and even Puerto Rico.

Ticket to Ride is another good one that I'd forgotten about, Eric! I think I'll put that on our Christmas list!!

we love "Canasta: Caliente" the card game. It's fun bc you can just play a few hands after dinner if you want or you can make a night of it ;)

We haven't played a game just the two of us for ages! But we used to like Bolix when we're too tired for Scrabble. Take Two is a fast one using Scrabble tiles. Boggle's a good one too. I hadn't heard of ticket to ride . .. sounds great!

We loved to play Mancala and Stratego. Both were pretty cheap at Wal-Mart. Now's the time to be on the lookout since Christmas is coming, more games appear in the stores & on sale! ;)
