We have a winnah!

I used Random.org for my selection of our election day giveaway winner, and the winner is Christina! Since you said you need a razor, well, perhaps your gift will include one.

Congratulations to the winner of our drawing!

About the ACTUAL election, wasn't it a privilege to be voting in something so historical? Record numbers of voters - how exciting! And, either way it would have gone, our country would have had a "first" We are so blessed to live in a country in which we are free to choose our leader. It is going to be interesting (as it always is) to see how our new president governs our land. I'm praising God for His Sovereignty, and for being able to be a part of this moment in history!

So how late were you up watching election returns?

Before 10 they had pretty much said that Obama was the winner and we were all pretty tired, so we headed to bed. I did get up in the middle of the night (preg related) and checked the returns, somethings encouraged me and some discouraged me.

God is in control. Facebook status bars are very interesting to read this morning, especially for some people I didn't expect the response they posted.

We chose to shut them off around 9:00. The election results were not what I was hoping for but I am at peace, knowing that it is God Who is in control. I had a sweet time of prayer and fellowship with my Awesome God this morning after finding out the outcome. He gives us peace and joy, no matter what we are faced with now and/or in the future. Our citizenship is in heaven and we can rejoice in that!

We were having issues with our cable box, so only I watched until about 8:30 or so. At that point, I was pretty certain of the outcome at least on a national level.

11:00 P.M. EST is 5:00 in the morning here in Cameroon so needless to say, I did not stay up all night. However, many, many Cameroonians did! Kayla cried out randomly at 4:30 this morning and I heard music "in the streets" so I knew celebrating was still going on and I remembered thinking to myself -- I wonder if the election has been decided yet. We talked to two people today who were up all night watching the returns. One guy said he kept a notebook every time a state announced a winner. (No internet to review those kind of things for them). I thought that was so funny because I'm the American, and I was sleeping. There was so much excitement around here today. Honestly, I would've been scared to go out today if Obama wouldn't have won. I think Obama winning makes people that don't know us look more favorably on us, like they see us as "not racist" now. What a day it has been.

I stayed up until 11:45 p.m. but couldn't last to see Obama's acceptance speech. I was very impressed with McCain's concession speech. Such a gracious and honorable man!
