Anybody have any ideas for extracting a digital camera's SD card that was inserted into the wrong (too large) slot of our computer's multi-card reader by a little 18 month old? It appears to have completely disappeared. Where does the card reader go? If I somehow figure out how to take the cover off the computer, will I find my card? Or do I need to shell out the big bucks and get a professional to do this?

Ah, motherhood. Full of adventures...

Jenny;
If your computer is a typical tower (eMachine, HP, Dell, etc), the easiest way to remove the card would be to turn off the PC, unplug everything from the back, and then tilt the computer so that the card can fall out.
Card slots have a solid 'wall' at the back, so it shouldn't have fallen into the crevice of your PC. :)

Josh,
Thanks, but unfortunately, I have tried that already...

Sorry, no help to be offered here, just sympathy! Enjoy the never ending adventures!

OH MY! I hope that you (or your 'fix-it' husband) can find your SD card without expensive tech support! This reminds me of when my toddler grandson put a Pop Tart in his parent's VHS tape player. They couldn't figure out why they couldn't get a tape to load. WHAT A STICKY MESS!!

I'm guessing you've tried tweezers? Otherwise you'll probably have to take the whole card reader apart.

I had a similar thing happen with my laptop but it wasn't a 18 month old it was your brother. So he fixed it. I'm not sure if he did it or if he took it to George Fox tech support and had them fix it. He can give you insights into that.
