I like your poll. I voted for the spontaneous acts of love vs. being told that I have to show love to my hubby. That said, I still made a cheesecake and arranged the cherries in a heart shape and sugar cookies with a strawberry preserve filling. I'm planning to make my hubby's favorite meal of enchiladas so I guess that I have fallen prey to the Valentine's Day mentality.
I am one of those people that isn't really into flowers, fancy cards, expensive jewelry etc. Although, I wouldn't turn away a box of chocolates:). At this stage in my life, I am way too practical. I am much more touched by the helpful acts of kindness that Michael and I show each other daily and gifts that can be used - like kitchen appliances! :) Anyway, have a nice day with your guys.
Yum! Sugar cookies with strawberry filling! Too bad you don't live closer - I'd suggest a cookie exchange! Those sound so yummy!
I'm with you on the practical gift aspect of things - We like to poke fun of the Kay jewelry commercials. :-) I do like flowers that are still growing in the pot, so I can replant them later! I do have to agree with you on the chocolates, of course! Hope you have a fun day, too!
Cute Poll! Uncle Dale and I LOVE Valentine's Day so much that we have been celebrating it EVERY DAY for almost 39 years (not even counting our dating days). On Feb 14, we wouldn't miss exchanging cards ... Mine is usually homemade - this year with an OLD picture of us (see my blog posting today). Aunt Rosemary
Eric and I have worked together at the Turlare, International trade show for the last 2 years during valentines day. I love it because we are together all day long. Even if we are working hard all day long it's just nice being together. He bought me a tree grafted with 4 different fruits on it. (what a wonderful gift of love) I gave him a card and chocolate. He loves chocolate.

Bah humbug to Valentines Day, but I will take some of those candy hearts, please. What? Aren't I allowed to enjoy the spoils! :)
