little treasure

Aaron is talking up a storm. He is an amazingly verbal child (please, no snide remarks about how he comes by it honestly...) and has a vocabulary of easily 100 words. Some of these, he doesn't get quite right. I am loving it. He is after all, just 18 months old. We've got plenty of time for diction practice.

And this is my favorite:

Aaron can say "mom"
and he can say "me"
but when you ask him to say "mommy" it comes out "monnya"

So, I wonder how long I will get to hear this little treasure? I'm actually kind of dreading the day that he gets it right. One more indication that he is growing up TOO quickly!!

That's precious!!. One of my daughter's most prize possessions is a cd that her brother made for her as a gift of her kids laughing, talking and singing when they were little. If you don't already, it might be nice to record some of Aaron's early words...in your spare time :)

Yay for Aaron! I remember all of Michael's chatter when he was only 18 months old. Pretty soon, Aaron will be talking in little sentences. And who says that boys aren't as verbal as girls are?:) Aren't you glad that you can be home with him to enjoy these moments?

That's so cute Jenny. Do enjoy it because they too quickly lose their little quirky annunciations! Ian always called soy milk, "soil" milk until just recently. I hated to see that go! =)

I know just what you mean about dreading the day that they start saying something right. Kayla's latest mispronunciation is got-for instead of forgot. It is so cute, and I'm enjoying it for as long as it will last. I know that with all the other words that she's changed to saying the right way, this one will be gone soon too. The other day she said to me so excitedly, "Mommy, Daddy got-for his sandwich." And he had so she called and told him and Dan got to hear her say it. :-)

Your right Jenny, you can't wait till he says it right but at the same time he's growing up so quickly. I journaled the phrases Carmen and Lissa said and made a short story to give out at Christmas with their pictures included. It made a nice memory and gift. The relatives loved it.
I haven't seen Aaron in person so he's really growing up fast to me.

That's SO cute!! Have you ever heard of Build-a-Bear? They have these little "things" (dunno what they're actually called) you put into stuffed animal paws and when you squeeze the paw, they make noise. I know they sell voice-recorder "things". Maybe you can get a few and then stuff them into favorite toys for a life time memory. I'm getting Caleb his own bear and intend to record his laugh so his bear will sound like him. Hope this makes sense...sorry it is so long.
