how relaxing...

I was over at the hospital today, to pay our bill for lab work, and as I was walking back down the long hallway, I happened to look down one of the dimly lit side hallways. I saw, to my amusement, a grey steel door, no window. On the front of the door was a red sign, about 15 inches square with one word on it: "SEDATION" All caps, white lettering.

Seems like seeing that door would be enough to make you need the services offered therein.

A couple funny Poland hospital stories: when I was pregnant with maia and going for weekly visits, I'd have to sit outside the ultrasound 'lab' in a long line of pregnant moms. 15 feet further down was a door marked with bio-hazard stickers and lit-up red signs saying not to open the door - radiation! Crazy, huh? And when I went to visit my friend Amber after she gave birth in a little Polish hospital, she told me to just walk around till I found her - they'd set her up on a bed in the hall. I didn't really believe here, but when I finally found her, sure enough, she and about six other ladies were nice and cozy in their beds lining the hallway walls! They'd run out of room, and what else could they do?!

(wow, sorry - that was kind of long-winded)

Oh, boy! just think - if you didn't experience it, you wouldn't have such great stories to tell!!! Nevertheless, I'm glad the Midland hospital doesn't set laboring moms out in the hallway!
