what would you do...

If you're a mom, please weigh in on this - what would you do if you had a day to spend by yourself? As in no kids, no spouse, just you. And a $50 spending ceiling.

I'd love to hear your answers!

Off the top of my head...

1. load up some good podcasts for my roaming
2. plan to do some thinking/organizing/planning that hasn't been done in a while (like kids' winter clothes)so my brain can rest more at home.
3. get errands done that are hard to do with children in tow and enjoyably mosey a bit (Kohl's, bookstore, rummages, the grown-up half of the library).
4. One dessert treat like a lovely piece of pie, eaten somewhere outside and beautiful with a large iced tea beside. Good place to do thinking.
5. Pedicure?
6. Arrive home feeling caught up, relaxed, and edified. Bonus--bring home a treat for everyone (cookies for hubs, treasures for kiddos)

The value of feeling "on top of things" is huge to me....because I'm always behind!:^)

It depend on what season of life your in and what the needs are at that time.

In my season I just want to be home to dink around, if I didn't have to be careful about weight I would eat out with some friends and just visit. But this wouldn't work in my season, because I do have to be concerned about weight.

If I had something that needed attending to like the garden, I would attend to that and maybe go walk around a nursery. I love gardening because it's quiet time with God.

or a sewing project, scope out a fabric store. But I would do this if there was a purpose in mind. Otherwise not.

If the weather was nice go for a walk in a beautiful garden and enjoy God's creation.

No matter the season it seems to be a good idea to find a quiet spot to be with the Lord and get refreshed.

Oh what a fun thought....mmmm...I think I would get some good friends together and go out to a fun restaurant in town and just spend a lot of time there. Maybe even go to live concert afterwords.
