blessings galore

well the limited internet access is about ready to drive me nuts! It's so hard to keep in touch - I guess I got spoiled with access at work...

Mom & Dad have several pics of Aaron on their blog, as well as of our new house, which we moved into this weekend. (insert gasps for air here)

We are amazed and astounded at the blessings of God. Here are some of our most recent happenings:

- I realized that being a mother of boys will mean that I have an extra shirt in the diaper bag at all times.
- We are now in our new house!!! (amidst many boxes) and we can live there!!!
- My ankles have finally made their re-appearance after several months of swelling, much to my amazement, and I can wear my wedding rings and toe ring again. HURRAY!
- I am married to the world's BEST DADDY ever.
- I love being a mom.
- I have a great kiddo.

Allow me to praise God for this: we've had several nights of 5-hour sleep sessions followed by a 4-hour session. I don't have any illusions of it continuing for an extended period, but I DO take every night like that as a precious gift. Sleep is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Okay, I need some opinions. The other day, I was changing Aaron and talking to my mom when all of a sudden, he started to move a little more than usual. The child rolled over onto his tummy. I looked down in disbelief and quickly flipped him back on his back. I said, "yeah, buddy, try that again." And the child promptly turned himself over again, and lifted up his head. The little man was 18 days old. This is unusual, yes? Honestly, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it myself. And I wasn't hallucinating; Mom is my witness. However, I didn't think they were supposed to get to that rolling over accomplishment for several months. I'm praying it is a fluke. Early mobility doesn't settle well with me.

I need to get going so I can wake the young child for his feeding. First, I shall attempt to post pictures. Thanks for the prayers and for keeping up with our family!!

Jenny,

I am so happy you were able to move in this weekend. That is a blessing. And as for Aaron rolling over early, I can't speak the normality of it, but I do think it's safe to say you're going to have your hands full. :) Sounds like (and LOOKS like from the pics) motherhood will never be boring for you. Love you! I'm so happy for you!

I'm so glad to hear you are all doing well!! I love the pics, too. Aaron is such a cutie!

I think that it's pretty unusual for a baby to roll over that early! I believe I rolled myself over at 2 weeks old, but it was in a fit of rage (according to my mom :)), not while calmly being changed. Sam first rolled over at almost 3 mos. and Julia hasn't done it yet (she'll be 4 mos. in a week). If Aaron keeps up with this pattern, watch out! :) Maybe he'll be walking by 9 mos.! Yikes!!!

I have heard of babies rolling over that young. He's going to keep you on your toes! Crazy that he did it twice in a row too. Usually when you want them to do something again - it never happens. :) Esther didn't roll over til 4 mo. Good thing - I'm so bad about putting her on the bed, etc. Just recently I've stopped doing that. Of course she was always closed in by pillows lest anyone is worrying. :)

Jenny,
Emma rolled over on the couch at 2 weeks--totally shocked me. I don't think she did it again though. She was a few months old before it became regular. Olivia was 4 months old. Emma did do lots of stuff early. She took her first steps at 8 1/2 months old. She's never been one to want to be held back in anything. :-)
Praise God for how He has worked to get you in the house!

Appreciate the update on your family. The pictures are too cute! Definitely keep those coming. I am so glad that you are continuing to feel better. It must feel great to finally be in your new place. Congrats! Now comes the fun part of unpacking and getting settled. Garrett and I have been at our place for a while and I am amazed how long it takes to find a spot for everything. Good Luck.

Jenny,

I enjoyed hearing about you, Michael and Aaron. It's good to hear that you are doing well and how the Lord is blessing. Your son is adorable. I am not an expert on baby stages nor do I have children to compare to, so I won't offer any advice on the rolling over. Hope you get settled into your new house quickly.
