WHEW! I guess I was out in the sun too long... My comment didn't make a lot of sense...sorry. A stolen wallet, and some change is must easier to deal with than a stolen van!!! I am glad that you are able to praise God in adversity.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05855131222804620687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-25401542019363666562008-07-07T06:28:00.000-05:002008-07-07T06:28:00.000-05:00The car was unlocked, and this is a lesson to us o...The car was unlocked, and this is a lesson to us on checking and double checking to make sure it's locked at all times. The crazy part is that this neighborhood and really all of Midland is usually quite safe. Always keep your purse with you.It doesn't matter what your car looks like. Everyone is a target. I keep a copy of all the cards in my purse in a file. Eric and I bought Identity theft insurance. Because we learned it's when it happens it will save you 600 hours to recover and make your ID safe and secure again.
I pray God will help you threw this and that Micheal's information wasn't comprimise.Shelldellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01909456857564077241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-60905873803685321582008-07-06T23:18:00.000-05:002008-07-06T23:18:00.000-05:00Questions for the thieves who broke into our truck...Questions for the thieves who broke into our truck a couple of years ago -- "What did you end up doing with the Bible on CD and all of the Northern Lights CDs?" "Why did you take tire chains?" "How does Daniel's suit fit you?" "How is the resale market in Albuquerque these days?" and "if you had to steal my camera, could you have at least rewinded the roll of film that was in it and left that?" I'm sorry the same thing happened to you guys - we know EXACTLY how you feel - especially if you happened to have a $2000 piece of equipment belonging to your church in the van at the time =(. I'm curious because we no longer have a garage now that we live in an apartment. I just assume we are safe if the car is locked, but maybe not.Kelly Glupkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04259118889199565501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-10206883081283222802008-07-06T15:00:00.000-05:002008-07-06T15:00:00.000-05:00Oh Jenny, That's TERRIBLE! If you are wondering 'w...Oh Jenny, That's TERRIBLE! If you are wondering 'why us, why our old van', here is a story of another vehicle theft. Our son has a friend who had his vehicle stolen from his place of work..twice!! The vehicle was eventually recovered in another location both times, but 'totaled' the second time. It had been used by drug dealers. The police said that it was typical for drug transporters to steal the junkiest vehicle that they can find. They are easier to start, less noticable than a fancy new car, and often not even reported missing by the owner if the value is less than the insurance deductable. His guy had just come back from a fast food lunch and the police thought that the thieves had seen the car (which they wanted), followed him to his work place and took the car as soon as he went inside. CREEPY, HUH?
I hope that someone just 'borrowed' your van for soome fun or something and that it is found in drivable condition.
I am praying for 'peace of mind' for you guys.
Take care, Aunt RosemaryRosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05855131222804620687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-49880985158256192172008-07-06T14:44:00.000-05:002008-07-06T14:44:00.000-05:00What a bummer!
