It's so much more complicated and a lot more work! So I waited until after our holiday travels were over - he was about 6 and a half months I think. I don't remember giving him avacado, but he loves them now!Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15138599512440470090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-82916337557136054692007-02-08T09:27:00.000-05:002007-02-08T09:27:00.000-05:00How great! I think he will eat anything! Aaron is going to pack on the pounds now! :-) We feed Jonas baby food by Earth's Best. (its all organic) Our health food stores carry it as well as our Baby's R Us. Enjoy little Aaron! The Barkershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10580689829177046427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-80286788495619401572007-02-07T22:41:00.000-05:002007-02-07T22:41:00.000-05:00I am here to deliver my flauta recipe! Heat the corn tortillas in a zip-loc bag in the microwave for about 30 seconds. This makes them easier to work with and they won't tear when you roll them. Pile the chicken down the center of the tortilla and roll it up. You can use a toothpick to keep it in place. Cover the bottom of a skillet in about 1/2" of oil (vegetable or peanut). Heating it is tricky. I usually burn a few before I get the temp of the oil right :) Use tongs to stick the flauta in the oil and hold it in place for a few seconds. This keeps it from unrolling. Fry it until golden brown. I have good days and bad days with these things, so plan to be a little frustrated if they unroll or burn. You will get the hang of it! They are so deliciously worth the smell of fried food in your house :) Serve with guacamole and/or your favorite salsa. I hope that's clear. I'm not a good recipe writer.Leah (Parrish) Millanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06449442547795800367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-31415181412226343002007-02-07T21:24:00.000-05:002007-02-07T21:24:00.000-05:00I started Julia with avocadoes, too . . . she love...I started Julia with avocadoes, too . . . she loved them at first, but now turns up her nose at them! I'm hoping she will adjust to liking them again in time. :) I took the same approach as you--I'm still not feeding her solids 3 times a day, but just whenever she seems to want something extra. She does love homemade applesauce, pumpkin (especially when mixed w/applesauce), and vanilla yogurt. I've tried rice cereal a couple times, but it wasn't a hit. I think she found it way too bland, when compared with the other fun things she's been eating. :)Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00159961811540152967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-89726615757397653382007-02-07T20:59:00.000-05:002007-02-07T20:59:00.000-05:00Hi Jenny,

I used to make this concoction of sweet potatoes, avocados and wheat germ (Michael was a little older). It looked horrible but he would eat it up. Talk about great brain food! The avocado has been labeled the perfect food. Now I make guacamole and call it "sauce". Michael likes to dip his crackers in it. Enjoy your new adventure:).<br />Rachel FeehanRachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15786503854290478861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23600935.post-8225409856096967602007-02-07T20:20:00.000-05:002007-02-07T20:20:00.000-05:00Glad to see Aaron has a taste for Mexican food! :...Glad to see Aaron has a taste for Mexican food! :) I'd recommend smashed bananas too - so easy to prepare.
